Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 18, 2026

Ahead is a service for people who want to do better work with AI, delivered as recurring one to one sessions with an expert operator. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to jumpahead.ai, app.jumpahead.ai, and everything we offer through them, which we call the Services.

The Services are operated by Joshua Brueckner, a sole proprietor doing business as Ahead in the State of California ("Ahead", "we", "us"). You can reach us any time at hello@jumpahead.ai.

Two things are worth saying at the top, because they are the questions people actually have.

Your session content is not a marketing asset. What you say in a session, what you write to your operator, and what you tell us during intake is used to deliver the service to you. It is never sold, never shared with advertisers, and never used to send you marketing.

AI is part of how the service works, not a footnote. Every session is recorded and transcribed, with no opt-out, and the written summary you get afterwards is generated by AI from that transcript before a person reviews it. Section 3 explains exactly what that means for your data, and section 3 is the one to read if you read only one.

Ahead is not therapy or medical care. Operators are experts in their fields, not licensed therapists, physicians, or lawyers. We do not ask for health information and we are not a HIPAA covered entity. Please do not send us medical records or similar sensitive material.

1. What we collect

Intake answers. Before you create an account, our intake questions ask about your situation: the kind of work you do, how you currently use AI, what you need help with, and what prompted you to look now. We save these answers as you go, keyed to a random identifier stored in your browser, so you can leave and come back. We do not ask for your name or email during intake. When you create an account, we link those saved answers to it.

Prep answers. After you book your placement call we ask a few optional questions about the tools you use, your context, and what you have already tried. These are used to match you well and to give your operator a running start. Skipping them costs you nothing.

Account information. Your name, email address, and login credentials. Accounts are created and secured through Clerk, our authentication provider. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google, not your Google password.

Payment information. Your plan, cadence, billing history, and the payment method on file. Card numbers go directly to Stripe, our payment processor. Ahead never sees or stores your full card number. If you are an operator, Stripe also collects the banking and tax identity information needed to pay you.

Scheduling information. The calls you book, when they are, and whether you attended, handled through cal.com.

Session content. Working sessions run on video inside the Ahead platform. Sessions are recorded and transcribed by default so that your operator can write the summary you get after every session, and so your session log is searchable later. Section 3 covers this in detail.

Messages. What you and your operator write to each other between sessions.

Feedback and support. Ratings you give a session, and anything you send us when you contact us.

Operator information. If you apply to operate on Ahead, we collect your application, background, areas of expertise, and the profile shown to members you are matched with.

Device and usage information. IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, features used, and how you arrived at the site. This comes from cookies and similar technologies, described in section 6.

2. How we use it

  • To run the service. Create and secure your account, match you with an operator, take payment, schedule and host sessions, produce your session summaries and session log, pay operators, and answer you when you write in.
  • To match you well. Your intake answers are the primary input into which operator you are matched with. Your operator sees the answers that are relevant to helping you.
  • To improve the service. We look at intake answers and usage patterns in aggregate to understand what people need and what is working. Where we do this, we work with grouped or de-identified data rather than singling anyone out.
  • To communicate with you. Confirmations, reminders, billing notices, and updates about your account. These are part of the service and you cannot opt out of them while you have an account. Marketing email is separate and you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • For safety, security, and legal reasons. Preventing fraud and abuse, debugging, enforcing our Terms of Service, resolving disputes, keeping records we are required to keep, and responding to lawful requests.
  • For marketing and advertising. We advertise on platforms including Meta, LinkedIn, and Google, and we use their tools to measure whether those ads work. This uses website activity only. It never uses session content, messages, or intake answers.

3. Session recordings and transcripts

This is the most sensitive information we hold, so it gets its own section.

What happens. Every working session is recorded and automatically transcribed. The recording is what makes the written summary and the session log possible, and those are part of what you are paying for. You will see a notice before you join and on the session page.

Recording cannot be turned off. We want to be direct about this rather than bury it. Transcription and your written summary both depend on the recording, so there is no per-session opt-out. You see a notice before you join and again on the session page, and joining after that notice is how you consent. If you are not willing to be recorded, do not book a session, and cancel your membership if you already have one.

You can have recordings deleted. Ask us at hello@jumpahead.ai at any time and we will delete a recording or transcript unless we are required to keep it. Your written summary survives unless you ask us to delete that too.

Who can see it. Your operator, and Ahead staff who need access to run the service or handle a support or safety issue. Other members never see your recordings, transcripts, or summaries. We do not share them with your employer, and we do not share them with anyone else unless you ask us to or the law requires it.

AI generates your summary. This is worth being precise about, because it is easy to assume otherwise. Your session summary is written by AI from the transcript. It is not composed from scratch by a person. Before it reaches you, your operator or someone at Ahead reads it and can edit it, so a human releases every summary. That review does not mean every line has been checked against the recording.

Which means summaries can be wrong. AI tools misattribute, omit, and occasionally state things that were never said. Treat your session log as a useful record, not an authoritative one. Tell us at hello@jumpahead.ai if you spot an error and we will fix it.

Training AI models, stated precisely. Three separate things, and they are worth separating.

What we do: Ahead does not use your session content, messages, or intake answers to train AI models, and does not sell or supply them to anyone else for that purpose.

What our providers commit to: the AI providers we use are on business or developer plans whose terms state that content submitted through them is not used to train their models. Sessions are transcribed by Daily.co, which hosts the video, and summaries are drafted by Anthropic's Claude models through Anthropic's commercial API. That is our arrangement as of the date at the top of this policy.

What we cannot promise: we do not control these companies and we cannot guarantee what they do internally. Our responsibility is to choose providers carefully and hold them to their published terms, and that is the commitment we are making. If our arrangements change in a way that changes the paragraph above, we will update this policy and tell you before it takes effect.

There is no way to use sessions without AI processing. Recording, transcription, and summary drafting are how the service works, not optional extras layered on top of it.

Please be careful what you share. Sessions are about your real work, which means your employer's confidential information may come up. You are responsible for making sure that sharing it does not break an agreement you have with them. Do not bring anyone else's personal data, credentials, or health information into a session.

4. Who we share it with

Service providers. Companies that run parts of the service for us, under contracts that limit them to that purpose. As of the date above these are: Clerk (accounts and login), Stripe (payments and operator payouts), cal.com (scheduling), Daily.co (video sessions, recording, transcription), Neon and Replit (application hosting and database), Netlify (website hosting), Sanity (blog), PostHog (product analytics), Loops (email), and Anthropic (drafting session summaries). Our analytics never carry session content: no transcript text, summary text, or message content is sent to PostHog.

Your operator. Once you are matched, your operator sees your name, the intake answers relevant to helping you, your session history, summaries, recordings and transcripts, and your messages to them. Operators are independent contractors, not employees, and are bound by confidentiality obligations to Ahead.

Advertising and analytics partners. Meta, LinkedIn, and Google receive information about your activity on our public website through cookies and pixels, which they use to show and measure ads. Under some state privacy laws this counts as "sharing" personal information for targeted advertising, and you can opt out. See section 7. This never includes session content, messages, or intake answers.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information when we believe in good faith it is necessary to comply with law or legal process, enforce our agreements, collect what we are owed, or protect the rights, property, or safety of anyone.

Business transfers. If Ahead is acquired, merged, or reorganized, or sells its assets, your information may transfer as part of that transaction. Any acquirer would remain bound by this policy until it tells you otherwise.

With your permission. Anything else, only if you say yes first.

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we never have.

5. How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as you have an account with us.

Recordings, transcripts, summaries, and messages are deleted 30 days after your membership ends, unless you ask us to delete them sooner or we are required to keep them longer.

Account, billing, and tax records are kept longer, because tax and accounting rules require it. That is generally seven years for financial records.

Intake answers and usage analytics may be kept in de-identified or aggregated form after your account closes, so that we can keep learning from them. In that form they are no longer linked to you.

6. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember where you were in the intake flow, understand how the site is used, and measure our advertising. Some of these are set by us and some by the providers named in section 4.

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking the ones we use to run the service will break parts of it, including staying logged in. You can turn off advertising and analytics cookies without affecting the service.

We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. If your browser sends it, we treat it as a request to stop sharing your information for targeted advertising.

7. Your choices and your rights

Email. Unsubscribe from marketing email using the link in any marketing message. Service email continues while your account is open.

Recording. Sessions cannot be held unrecorded, but you can ask us to delete any past recording or transcript. See section 3.

Advertising. Turn off advertising cookies in your browser, or send a GPC signal. You can also opt out at the platform level in your Meta, LinkedIn, and Google account settings.

Your data. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, ask us not to share it for targeted advertising, and appeal if we say no. Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and a growing number of other states have some or all of these rights by law.

We extend the core of these rights to everyone who uses Ahead, whether or not your state requires it. Write to hello@jumpahead.ai and tell us what you want. We will verify that the request is really coming from you, usually by asking you to send it from your account email, and we will respond within 45 days. We will not treat you differently for asking.

If we deny a request and you think we got it wrong, reply and say so. We will review it again and give you a written answer.

8. Security

We protect your information with encryption in transit and at rest, access limited to the people who need it, and providers chosen partly for the security they bring: Clerk holds credentials, Stripe holds card and banking data, and neither of those ever passes through our own systems. No service can promise perfect security, and we do not. If a breach affects your information, we will tell you as required by law and as a matter of course.

9. Where your information goes

Ahead is operated from California, in the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States.

Our operator network is global. If you are matched with an operator located outside the United States, the information described in section 4 is accessible to them where they are. Every operator is under a written contract that requires them to protect it and use it only to deliver your sessions.

The Services are currently offered to members in the United States. If you are using them from elsewhere, you are doing so on your own initiative and you are responsible for local law.

10. Children

Ahead is for adults. The Services are not directed to anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, write to hello@jumpahead.ai and we will delete it.

11. Other sites

Our site links to other sites we do not control, and our blog may reference them. This policy does not cover them. Read their policies before giving them anything.

12. Changes to this policy

We will update this policy as the service changes. When we do, we will change the date at the top and post the new version here. If a change matters materially to you, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.

13. Contact us

Email: hello@jumpahead.ai

We answer privacy requests from this address and we will respond within 45 days.
